Default 2011 Hudson River Cooperative Angler Program

I know some of you guys have heard of this, but for those who have not, maybe you might want to be part of it ?

Basically you get a log book supplied by NYSDEC and log the info from each when you head out on the river this year. They collect data like species caught, hours fished, size, numbers ...etc ... from us (the fishermen).

I will try to attach the news letter that went out to all that were involved in it last season .... if i can figure out how to attach a PDF

They are always looking for more volunteers.

Here is the main contact for the program ...

from the bottom of bassnbrian's link

Hot Off The Press!!
The “Baitfish Transport Regs” may be changed next season! The DEC anticipates issuing a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in March to be followed by a 45‐day public comment period. It would allow baitfish to be transported overland within defined “transportation corridors” for use within the same waterbody from which they are collected.

that is the best news ive heard in a long while!!!!

That is true about possiable change to transportaion laws, which is great for all Striper fishermen. BUT, there will most likey be possession limit next year, we'll have to wait and see.

I like the part about how 2007 was DEC best year ever for numbers of juveniles recorded ... and now that they are 4yrs old they will be coming back to spawn on thier home grounds, here in the Hudson river

Could make for a good catching season.
