Default Short MM Report for July 20th AND July 21st

WEll, decided to take a few Herring to the 101 bridge and fish that part of the marsh. I couldnt get down to the trestle because of that d**n puddle, so I had to go to another spot.

I got nothing. Not even a d**n bite. I only used one Herring. THats how bad it was. I drifted the chunks down current, nothing. I weighted them down, nothing. What a crock.

So packed up my crap and headed up to the same spot I got that last 37 incher, Wallis Sands in Rye. Fished off the rocks with the 10 footer again. Threw out a white Danny plug. Nothin'. Threw out the Mack pattern pencil popper. Nothin'. Deadah than ah faht out there.

I also noticed that 37 incher musta messed up my top guide on the 10 footer. The thing is turning, but luckily not flying off. Guess I gotta take it down ta Surfland and get it fixed.

No Stripered Bassy's today.

Went back again today. Same spot, still cant get to my fave spot cuz of that FRIGGIN PUDDLE.

They were hitting today though. Throwing chunk herring with a small egg sinker. Over half a dozen dinks and twinks. Missed another 5 or 6.

I used smaller hooks and smaller chunks today, considering what happened yesterday, and that seemed to do the trick. Sometimes you gotta do that out there on tha Mahsh. Sometimes you gotta go with even SMALLER hooks and chunks to entice a bite.

But after all, I was fishing the hottest part of the day pretty much. It's always more of a challenge than evening, night, or early am.

You'll probably notice, over time, that youll see considerably more fish, and more sizeable fish mixed in, if you fish the evening and dawn. Twilight hours are the most fun :)
