Default 11-20-06 Fishing Report from Harbor Tackle, W. Ocean City, Md

Harbor Tackle’s Fishing Report, November 20, 2006

The following is the results of the 1st Annual Assateague Striper Tournament sponsored by AtlanticAnglers.com and Harbor Tackle. A great turnout with 45 participants hitting the beach in search of the Fall Striped Bass.

The winners are:
• Longest Rockfish - Dave Swenson --- 49" Saturday 10:35 am
• Second Longest Rockfish - Dan Davis --- 40 1/2" Saturday 3:01 pm
• Most Rockfish Caught (at least 28") - Nancy Fullard --- 36" Saturday 6:57 am
There were eight fish caught total. The prize for most rockfish caught by one angler was an eight way tie. In the case of a tie, the first fish caught wins.

Congratulations to all anglers who caught fish.
- Nancy Fullard: 36" Saturday 6:57 am
- Steve Coleman: 30 1/2" Saturday 8:20 am
- Phil Krute: 29" Saturday 9:20 am
- Dave Swenson: 49" Saturday 10:35 am
- Roger Gross: 31 1/2" Saturday 1:00 pm
- Scott Cooper: 31" Saturday 2:10 pm
- Dan Davis: 40 1/2" Saturday 3:01 pm
- Chis Krest: 29" Sunday 10:45 am

Thank you to the participants, judges, Sam, and Terry for making this such a great event. We look forward to holding this event next year.

Hitting in the surf were a few legal stripers mixed with undersized. Oliver Fullard caught a nice 32” bluefish this past weekend in the surf. A few big blues have been taken in the surf. Also, I am hearing of a few large blues in the inlet. Steve Mitchell took a 37” striper and Ward Mitchell hooked up with a 32” striper in the Inlet last week. Both were using eels for bait. Shad have shown up in the Inlet. Striper fishing in the Inlet is still kinda slow, but a few bigger ones are being caught. Tog are still hitting great at the 2nd – 4th Street bulkhead. One of my customers said that one of his friends caught a 23” tog and several 17 inchers. He caught so many that anything under 17 inches was too small and was thrown back.

Harbor Tackle has fresh bunker, live green crabs, live eels, and live black salties.
