Manhattan Beach, the water was cold I chucked plugs, I chucked Bunker, I chucked eel, I chucked my shoes.
Sun was setting and smacked my rod something HUGGGEEEEE. I saw it in the water after one run and thought it was a MONSTER STRIPED BASS. It ran for a good 20 minutes afterwards, afraid of snapping the line I literally beached it with my feet. God bless insulated waders.
Then I saw it. A 40" Bluefish. Eyes that can follow you all the way across the beach. He was looking at me and me at him. I have never been so excited to land a bluefish. It was a monster.
I was very afraid of getting my Rattlin Rapala out with pliers. After a few yanks from different angles on my leader it flew out. Guess his jaw locked shut. The thing had the biggest head ever. I lifted him by the tail and put him in the water.
It was really scary how close to shore he hit also. Like just a few feet out in probably 4 or 5 feet of water.
My rattlin Rap is damaged, my Cabela Tourny master that I use for small Catfish in the Susquehanna river held it through, so did my reel.
14lb Fireline, god bless.
Just a little excited guys, I WISH I WISH I HAD A CAMERA ON MY PHONE! DARN!
