Default Cow Hunt '13

Hey all.

That rumblin' off in the distance?
It's not thunder; the cows are coming home.

Thought I would start my posting here with a Q&A on the preferences of cows to various structure, given calender, tide, bait, etc.
Before anything, though, I want to offer my most sincere thanks to all who have posted before me - particularly the old sharpies and salters (ok, you're great too..1st time Snoopy/Zebco riders..) Anyway, the knowledge and shared experience (going back 8 years!) has been invaluable to the success and enjoyment I've experienced fishing the past few seasons.

Me: 25y targeting stripers, 15y *serious* cow problem (fishing too much, GF steamed...) Method: Night, ~50 trips May-Oct.
After June 1st: 90% eels, with wood S.swimmers, bucktails, and leaded soft-plastics tied on for the rest. Range: Portsmouth to Gloucester.
2013 Focus: Mostly Salisbury to Essex Harbor, prob 25% Rye to Seabrook.
Basically I'm trying to fish the percentages.. as the fish rotate through their favorite stomping grounds. Any thoughts from the gallery as to the pick of the lot below, given calender, tides, bait availability?

1. Out Front:
A. sandy & muddy bottom...bars, cuts, holes
B. rocky & rockier... boulder fields, boulder pastures, boulder holes

2. Inside:
A. Flats meet the dropoffs
B. Eel grass edges
C. Mussel beds
C. Creek Mouths
D. Larger current Breaks... boulders, holes, etc

Thanks everyone,
-r
