Default Is it necessary to fish from a boat....

... to be successful at stripe bass fishing in lakes? I like to cast lures or use live bait but do not have a boat and I am going to try bluestone lake soon.

I don't know about that particular lake, but shoreline access to quality spots on most lakes I've fished is practically nonexistent. Having a boat of some sort really opens up your opportunities on most lakes. Even a kayak or canoe is better than nothing.

Welcome aboard by the way!

I better get a boat then. bluestone lake in WV is a C.O.E. reservoir in south eastern part of the state. the last few state record stripers have come from there and I got to try. thank you for the advice!
