Default Fishing report

Hello,

I was fishing on Gulf Beach in Milford last Friday. Perfect tide at 9PM, lots of fishermen, and no fish :)

I'm not sure if this place got fished out or what but last year was the same.

Thought you ought to know.

Stripers are migratory and don't stay in the same spot for long. Beaches can't be "fished out" like a pond Don't get discouraged and your persistance will pay off eventually.

Stop throwing bait and you will stop catching robins. I think it's funny that so many people bait fish when stripers respond so well to lures.

Any decent lures you have in mind? Would it be possible to get few pictures?

Thank you kindly.

Yeah it's nuts.

I plan on going tonight or tomorrow (likely tomorrow). The tide will come in between 7-8 PM over next 2 days.

I'll get back with some updates.

Cheers!

Sorry, was out few days.

So last weekend we went out to the West Haven beach and got 2 snappers in about 2 hours period.

Not too crazy but at least no sea robins :)

Great report! Had a few days like that in the last two weeks minus the sea bass/all but 1 fluke were short.
Off topic but anyone that has been out in the western sound knows that it is loaded w bait and no fish under them. People keep saying that with this amount of bait its only a matter of time before fishing explodes. But what is going to set it off? water temp drop,... and if so what should we be looking?

anyone have information on the current condition of Penfield Reef? I fished the reef last fall but haven't been there this year. Can you still make it to the end and back at low tide?

Cought 33" 8.76lb blue in off a shore in Milford yesterday with my brand spanking new rod (wedding gift from myself to myself :D)

http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/searc...tem1=ik-123040

Is this considered a good rod?

Cheers!
