Default Best time to plan a striper trip to Wildwood NJ in fall??

I am new to Striper fishing and have been anxiously waiting to plan a trip to N. Wildwood to get in on some striper action. I have been trying to find info on striper runs and the best time to plan a trip for myself and my 7 year old son. I have not had any luck in finding any sites or information that is helpful to determine a good time to hit the road. I have called the local bait shops and they say there is not much action yet. Any help here would be appreciated.

My favorite time is mid-November. I've done my best then. Try to pick a decent day with a westerly wind if fishing from the beach, IMO, although it has been said that stripers like inclement weather, I'm sure they don't mind nice weather too,,,lol.

Wildwood stripers love clams, but when they are on the bite during migration they will go after many offering, including,,surface poppers, bucktails with or without plastic worms, as well as live eels, mullet, bunker, speckled crabs, etc.

Depending on the severity of the winter, I have seen them caught all winter into the spring migration north. Depends on water temps.

C'mon down with the youngun,,,

Good luck, I'll see ya on the beach.

Bassmanbone,

Thanks alot. Appreciate the info. I just bought 2 new poles and my kid can't wait. Although I have to admit I am probably more anxious than him.

We are going to shoot for the weekend of the 12th. I'ld like to get 2 days in on the beach and he is really looking forward to getting on a charter boat. Any recommendations for Striper trips this time of the year?

Thanks again, we'll see ya on the beach.
