Default Lead core?

I am a wire line user on the rare occasion that I troll. Honestly I hate the stuff. How does lead core compare?

Easier to use, won't get quite as deep, more affected by current/speed. That's my take on it anyway. I did use both last year, side by side, but I'm sure others have much more experience with them than I.

They both work well..Baitrunner said it well..Wire does run a little deeper...I use wire myself...You have to understand the advantages to both...

Wire will hold better in current.......

Lead Core....Will allow you more play or feel in the line...

You can Jig with wire....but NEVER with lead core...

Any other questions...I'd be more than happy to answer

Use lead when I don't have to go that deep, More forgiving. If you know how to use wire ,then lead is easy.

I used lead core but didn't care for it. Have you tried Dipsy Divers with braid? You get the great "feel" of braid, but the get-down-there ability of lead core or wire. They're not very expensive.

I use braid on all of my bottom fishing rods. It may get me down farther than mono while trolling, but certainly not deeper than wire.
