Default Knot opinion wanted

So I was out fishing the yesterday on the boat and needed to attach my Fluro leader to braid. while talking etc, I just tied a surgeons loop on the end of the leader and then attached the leader to the line with a palomar knot. Never attached with theis combo before but it was quick and easy for me. I know everyone has a preference for knots and connection types, what I am curious about is what are the benefits or drawbacks to this combination of knots to attach a fluro leader to braid?
thanks for any opinons...

One way is to make a 6 wrap Surgons loop about 12-18 inches long in the end of the braid to make a double line. Do not cut the double, use it as a single peice of line to tie a use uni-to-uni with the mono. The double line is to help the braid knot hold and reduce the chance of the braid cutting the mono.

Interesting. If it's a knot that will be going through the guides, I would probably not want any loops in it that could get caught, but other than that it probably would hold OK. With a small amount of practice the Albright knot is really quick to tie and probably would be a better choice in my opinion. If one knot will do the job just as quickly, I'm not sure I would want to tie 2 and create an additional point of possible failure...

It goes through the guides quite well... I found a diagram. Also, I said uni, but I was mistaken in the name. It is very is simialar to albright, but note the loop in the braid.

Allbright knot is still the lowest profile strongest knot for braid to mono connection...
