Talking NJ 2007 Striper Season Starts March 1st.

I must be in a daze, that's a month away. Have a feeling it's going to be a great season, with some big fish.
(consider releasing the Cows, take a picture, let them spawn)
Lets hope the Delaware River stays calm and clear.
Now to find WORMS.....
And am I glad this board is back and working!

Good to know Jim, thanks.

Now to invent the Bloodworm Warmer.....And a river heater! Even with this unusual cold weather I'm looking forward to a great run. Let's hope for a quick warm up.

Has anyone used the GULP Bloodworms? Their other stuff rocks.

I tossed em around a little last season, with a little success. Even tried em on Tube & Worm rigs, side by side with the real thing. The real thing always got the hit. I still have a couple packages left over from last year that the bluefish didn't eat, and plan to try a couple different things this year.

I like the flexibility and convenience of packaged bait, just have to figure out what works and the best way to present it. I actually picked up quite a few early spring schoolies by just putting a couple of those gulp worms under a float and letting it drift with the current out into the river mouth.

Thanks Baitrunner, I thought I'd ask around, I might just try them on a second pole. My problem is I always buy too much bait. I have this overwhelming fear of fish hitting like crazy and running out of bait. It hits me as soon as I get in a Bait & Tackle. I buy a bunch, drown 2 or 3 worms and take 'em home to die.

Keep your eyes on the river temps here Ronald. When the water temp closes in on 50 F or 10 degrees Celsius.
Water Quality table for Pa.
Keep in mind that during cold weather, ice effects on stage and discharge determinations at some stream-gaging stations are likely.
Temperature conversion

some of the creeks are already there.
