Well, Rich didnt defend his Middleweight belt LMAO. He got O W N E D by Silva. Rich looked like a fool. So much for his 10x10 workouts (1 hour straight weightlifting session with NO BREAKS at all).

Silve got him in the clinch around the 2 minute of the 1st round, just started pounding him with knees. Rich, instead of being smart, tucking his chin down to his chest, and backing out, decided HE could be more dominant in the clinch (FOOL), so he stayed in it. He got blown up knees, 1 to the ribcage, and the rest to the face and jaw. He took a brutal knee right to the center of his face, and his nose was caved in. I never seen someones nose so broken, even. Crooked and smashed in. The last knee was to the bottom of the chin, and Rich went down, never to get up. Fight was stopped by "Big" John Mcarthy, TKO.

If only Rich smartened up and got out of the clinch. I cannot see how a guy can think he better in the clinch than a Muay Thai Kickboxer LMFAO. You're in a Thai-clinch against a kickboxer. WTF?

During the post-fight interview in the case, Rich said "I didnt expect him to be the that strong in the clinch.".

Oh my f'in god, you gotta be kidding me.

What a let down.

Straight from Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes blog....

Sunday, October 8, 2006
Tomorrow I'm going to New York, Chuck and I will be on ESPN. Fly back tomorrow night.
This week I'll spend Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning with my brother getting crops out and also trying to spend as much time with my family as I can.
Thursday night, my wife and I leave for Las Vegas for the UFC. I hope Rich wins, but if Anderson wins I would consider bumping up to 185 and fighting him.
I'll fly home Sunday. -Matt
