Shamrock has made some nice inboard center consoles and walkarounds over the years. While inboards are reputed to be one of the least troublesome engine platforms, I have not considered them mainly because the shaft, propeller, and skeg give me concern when fishing shallow.....enter Shamrock's new tunnel drive hull. I became familiar with this (tunnel drive) design when looking at Rodman Boats out of Spain. The application of this design for Rodman has resulted in reviews commenting that they track on the ocean like a Porsche does on the highway. The design houses the shaft and propeller inside a tunnel in the hull giving almost full protection as well as decreasing the draft. Although the draft, still almost 29", is not short by any means, it may be more a result of the deep V design and the boats weight (7500 lbs). What are your thoughts on this Pilot house boat?
