Mistake #billion: Not Recon'ing efficiently. After all the times i spent driving around aimlessly and not finding any kind of new spot that looked interesting; I was searchin on googlemaps and came across a wicked little rock grouping. Drove there today this morining when it was low tide and WOW how the hell didnt i fish this spot before. Just goes to show there is always a spot you havent heard of, always keep ur eyes open, and put your time in. I cant wait to slay cows there this spring

Man I hear ya jxa, I took a trip down to Biddeford Pool yesterday and couldn't believe all the places that looked promising. I'll try and dig up a few pictures (hmmm, or would that be considered a spot burn???), but this place is the friggen see-all end-all spot for cow hunting. Picture a mile long stretch of boulder sized rocks you can hop around on, tidal pool, rips and oooooooooodles of sructure.........friggen paradise man. I'll send ya a PM so as not to upset the masses, good luck this season man, I'm countin down the days already!!!!

Good thing for the uni knot. Easy to tie in the dark.
I've done this. I've also loaded up the van to head out to a predetermined spot and then just zoned out while driving and missed my turn . Once I snapped back into reality I figured I would just keep on going and try some new water.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this-
Shining those freaking 50,000,000 candlepower lights all over the water!!
Seriously, I've been fishing on rocks and points at night with fish literally at my feet and then some know nothin......ahem-un-informed individual starts flashing his bright white superxenon head lamp on them saying "wow, look at how close they are!" and zip! out they go cause they've been spooked and so has the bait.
Sorry, just my pet peeve.....
save the lights for the way out and keep them off the water

Heres a new one. Leaving one of your wading boots on the side of the road while changing and not realizing until your three hours away from where you were fishing.

Getting too close to a big rock. One big wave hit the rock and re-directed in my direction and swamped me from head to toe
