Default Hook bonnets

What are some of the cheaper ways you guys find to protect your hooks?
Or should I say fingers, clothes, bags, ropes, bumpers, lines, other plugs, etc, etc.

I started using your basic clear vinyl tubing. Its fairly cheap about 10 bucks for 50 feet.

The large hook bonnets like the owner and ecko protectors are much more expensive.

Most everyone I know uses bits of the rubber tubing used to press window screens into their frames.
Dirt cheap, works great.

If you know a diabetic who uses the pen system, ask them to save you all the needle caps, they work great too.
