Default yellow eyes

Yellow eyes is my only friend.

Decided to hit the Long Island Sound again. Fished for four hours
straddling the mid day high. Plenty of bait visible, but nothing to agitate
them except for my lures. Practically threw every lure I
brought....swimmers, poppers, irons, and plastics.

It seems like the weeds are growing...making bottom presentation more difficult.

I did manage this bluefish just prior to peak and got plenty of casting practice.

Nice pics! You hooked that guy just right. Blues are all the way up to the NH border now. I lost a nice one at the boat this past weekend...my 40 lb leader couldn't stand up to the teeth. We were bass fishing the Merrimack river with Chunk mackerel doing OK when the blue fish rolled in at dead low tide and we started loosing tackle!

First bass of the day was a keeper (barely) and the rest were smaller.

I hate those @#&$^& things.
I'll admit, little scared of em too.
Every bad thing I've ever seen surf fishing has had a bluefish involved.

Yup, they are back here too. Little bastids. At least (sometimes) they seem to have been chasing the pogies farther upriver in town the past few years. More pogies up in the marsh means more big slob bully bass too :)
