Default Newburgh Bait Sources

I usually fish Kingston but would like to give the Newburgh area a try. I travel 84 E to get there and would like to locate a bait and tackle shop supplying worms and herring near the boat ramp. Does anyone know of a bait and tackle supply nearby?

We have been getting bloods at Ceelys. Ceely's Bait Bucket in New Windsor, NY. 226 Shore Rd. (845) 534-3495 They are a few miles south of the boat launch.

Definetly go to "Ceely's Bait Shop". Highly recommended! Best "bloods" around...

The only thing defiantly about Ceely"s is they're overpriced and if pulling a boat watch the road. Now before some of you shyt your panties; IMHO Wards is better, but Vinny across the bridge blows them all away with quality and price 6.99 a dz. The only place I know of that tops Vinny is Jacks down City Island. but since he's traveling in that intimidate area wards is the closest for him and gets him right back to the ramp!

In response by the Folks at Ceely's I have removed my "Question" regarding the price, as they have posted they charge 11.00 (unknown about sales tax you'd have to ask them) I don't believe I or any else was bashing we're just stating our views. If you're upset about my stating your overpriced, It's a fact as other places in this area charge less. As far as parking I was just pointing out the fact as to issue a word of caution as some folks come whipping around that turn and there's potential for a trailerd boat sitting on the side to be hit.

Bought bait from Ward's today......he's awsome and has good worms. Nice guy and I'd recommend him. He's open from 6am to 6pm.

I think its less than $10/doz as I bought 3 dozen yesterday with a bunch of tackle and it came out to $40. Sorry to say I didn't inquire about the actual price. Their # is 1-845-518-4274

Ceelys was $11 dozen, convenient location. Vinnys $6.99. Both have nice bloods. My truck gets 9 MPG towing the boat, so the extra 40 mile round trip plus the NB bridge toll makes it more or less a wash.

I think ceeleys is better have used both and ceeleys has much better quality bloods. It is closer to the ramp, They open at 5am wards doesnt open till 6am. The other thing I noticed is that ceeleys has better info on where the fish are and how there doing. So even though they are 11.00 $ a doz at ceeleys and 10.00 $ at wards that extra 1.00 $ is worth ever penny if it will put me on fish sooner. I also feel that wards is more of a shore fishing shop where ceeleys is more a boaters shop. So the info they have is different. Please dont take it the wrong way all the wards fans.

They're both good little bait shops, imho. I just think the Ceely's folks are nice as hell, so I give them my business.

Hi I'm the owner of Ceely's and I don't appreciate being Bashed on line. I have never said anything bad about anyone or another Bait shop or owner. I take this as a personal insult. I bust my ass to make sure I have bait reasonably priced
I pay a little more for my bait but I get a better quality for it I take pride in the bait I sell. My bloods are $11.00 dollars a dozen ( I have no idea where he got 13.00) I have Sandworms at $7.00 a dozen and when available I carry live Herring and I'm in the corridor where some shops are not. I'm 3.2 miles from the boat launch. I do have limited parking but there's a bar just down the street where the boats turn around with no problem. Open 5am to 7pm 7 days a week I also take bait reservations so If you come a long way and your not sure about bait being available you can call and reserve your bait.
