Still more of these bass . next fish from the exact same spot and I mean exact was a striper. Both were 16 inchers. Two days before it was a 19 18 and 16 inch stripers and bass in 15 minutes. This time change is cutting into the fishing time after work !

I wish I could find some largemouth up there. Been trying at clifton & no luck. Went up Friday & caught 4 stripers between 16-18" at the Mendota. No luck at the Ca Aquaduct.

I have been hooking them on LC jerkbait & Zoom flukes

I just picked up a LC 100 and 128 in ghost minnow.....hopefully I can get some luck ...with the cooler weather coming in how will it effect the fishing.. I barley started getting into Striper fishing so it's pretty new to me. I can take all the help I can get.

I was using the 128 in american shad. It was my favorite one, but lost it when I got to lose to those floating buoys last time. The detail on those are crazy.
Try some Zoom flukes with a 3/4 jig head in white

If I remember correctly, last year during the winter I caught more with hair raisers & the fluke. I varied the retrieve until I found the right depth, bc they concentrated more on the bottom. When I found one there were usually at least a couple more in the same area.

NP. Good luck & remember to concentrate before or after bends. Also gates & bridges right now since its still warm. Move on to the next gate after a period of no bites.

Most of my fishing happens after work around 430 until its too dark to see.slowing down the retreive has help catch more fish.not much fishing on the weekends if any too much to do around the house with projects.

I generally go to the Tracy area. I actually only have another week or two of fishing since Im having surgery on my elbow in December. Trying to decide if my last fishing day or 2 is going to be the duct or should I go LMB in Byron.

What areas do you go to?

I m not good at night fishing. I generally use baitcasters & it tough for me when I cant see.
My buddy only catches at night though & rarely hooks up when I convince to come with me during the day.
I think I dont have as much patience at night.

****** NOTICE ******

Went out this morning on the Mendota Canal, between Lammers and Hansen Rd. The Water Management guy stopped to tell me that they are going to enforce the NO TRESPASSING on the canal. He said the fine is $800 and is going to be enforced by the Game Warden.

I guess they've been having problems with people driving their cars onto the landings and they've had run ins where the police have been called.

Has anyone else heard of this? I don't want to find out by getting caught fishing beyond the yellow posts. Pretty expensive fishing

I've caught a majority of my fish on the Mendota and fish there 90% of the time. I guess I'll have to find "New Spots" on the Cali, which I still believe is ok to fish and ride my scooter on.
