Thanks guys, I appreciate the congrats.
I didn't have the 14' Big Beach with me at the NE back in March. I did have the 13' Beach though, a great rod in it's own right.
The conditions were superb. Wind was up (15-30), the barometric psi was down (29.70) and the sinkers were really flying well. Even with the great conditions I have to say the Big Beach REALLY surprised me. This rod is designed as a fishing rod, not a tournament casting rod. It is lightweight, easy to load, easy on the back and shoulders and is very powerful. 816' was by far the longest groundcast I have ever thrown. Sinker was a 150 gram tournament lead and the reel is a tuned and tweaked abu 5500.
Here is a clip for those interested.
I liked the rod so much that I've started to practice with it for serious tournament use. Here is a clip from last week practicing. 1st is a groundcast, second is a 150 pendulum and last a 125 pedulum. Conditions were decent, the last cast was 796'.
From the big beach down to the estuary I'm truley impressed with these rods.
