Default Appeasing the significant others

So I just finished up a huge list of things to do at the house like cleaning out the basement, raking out the entire yard, miscellaneous repairs around the house even helping prepare dinners. My girlfriend says to me yesterday, "Youre really doing a lot to get ready for striper season." I said, "Noooo.I just have a lot to get done." But she's definitely onto me.
Now I want to hear some of the things you guys do before and during the season to appease the significant others. Because I know soon I will be gone to everyone and inevitably will have to dodge some bullets.

Ansky-I run my own business, so I am able to maybe lead people to believe I'm working when I may be doing other things.....
I've also played the financial card with my girl because I've won a good amount of money over the years through tourneys. That one has proven successful a few times.

"My girlfriend says to me." Only one way to deal with that my friend. Marry her. Then she has no choice. And neither do you. Its either go fishing or f***. I can fish a lot longer than I can f***.

My girlfriend takes two weeks off every spring to go with me so I can't complain too much!

Hah, my girlfriend is understanding about it. Striper season and deer season, she knows I become obsessed. Fortunately got her started on hunting this last year, and she's willing to go out sometimes for striper with me. Even so her one rule is I can't throw them all back. Mostly I just catch and release, but she can't figure out why I spend all the time catching these fish, then turn around and let them go. So I am required to keep a few.

i've had to tell people the other "line" is ringing so i have to call them back

i've also caught and released many stripers and lake trout (in the winter) while talking on the phone and the caller had no clue

i gave up on appeasing the significant other when i realized it was not possible

she can either come with me, or stay home. And if she has a problem with me going, I'll sure miss her cooking..

I figure one of these days Ill meet "ms right" and please believe there will have to be some sort of "contract" that allows me to hunt/fish as necessary to keep sane!!!
