Lake Rhodhiss

Lake Rhodhiss was built in 1925. The Rhodhiss dam is 65 feet high and 1,500 feet long.
A relatively small lake, Rhodhiss has 90 miles of shoreline and a surface area of approximately 3,060 acres. Full pond elevation is 995.1 feet.
Lake Rhodhiss is also a reliable source of water for the nearby cities of Granite Falls, Lenoir, Morganton and Valdese, North Carolina.
Duke Energy provides four boat access areas and one bank fishing area on the lake in cooperation with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Where the dam is at is a trout fishin area and Huge stripers run through there. The water is so clear that you can actually see the them swimming. The only problem is they don't bite anything. I guess they feed off of the trouts and since it's on trout waters, we can't use live trout (even if it's bought.)

Are you sure about not using trout minnows in lake rhodhiss, i've used them for years up near johns river, but i have never been checked either, where would you have to go to check on this for sure. I sure dont want to have to pay a TICKET. thanks bunches for the info. Reel Crazy
