Default Hudson River Park Fishing in Nov.

Hi Everyone,
I'm a new member and have already tried searching for info on fishing in Hudson river park in manhattan. There was some info, but I was wondering if anyone had any specific info on fishing the George Washington Bridge and below around Thanksgiving time. I heard that the fall run is an excellent time to target stripers in that area. Any truth to that? Also, I heard that bucktail jigs were the way to go at that time in that location. I've only had experience with bait, and there isn't any place in Manhattan that I know of to buy frozen bait from.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

The bait store that comes to mind is capitol but they moved from W. 23rd street to the W 36th St.
Get as far south as you can for the bass. Anywhere near the Long Island Sound - the battery / Raritan bay will be fish. Or any of the parks on the Jersey side. Look up the HRFA site for launch ramps and access.
HRFA is Hudson River Fishing Association.
See if one of the Chinese restauraunts in chinatown will order you some eels.
The search feature will get you exact info on where capitol is.

Good luck this season and welcome aboard.

Well if you decide to try the jersey side I recommend either bradys pier in Bayonne or Global the shipping yards a few good spots for blues and stripers and for bait theres True World Tackle on Broadway in Bayonne between 37th and 38th streets

There also a good spot for stripers and blues right behind Veterans Stadium in Bayonne off of Avenue A and West 25th Street
True world Tackle usually has all baits Sometime they run out of Fresh Bunker and sandworms but you can dig your own sandworms there at low tide or use frozen bunker oh and they also sell live eels
