When do Stripers start in the catskill region?

I was just wondering when the stripers came so i can get my rods ready. I hope ice fishing holds me off til spring. :)

PT Germantown is not that far from Kingston. Look for the water temperatures to hit 50 plus. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ny/nwis/cu...p_key=basin_cd
There is a celcius to farenheit convertor on the front page of the web site.

Hey stay away from Germantown! That's my honey hole! :P Well, at least it was until last year when I spent about 75 hours down there and didn't even get one bite.

Hi Gunner.
Last year was very poor year for the Hudson. Lots of guys were complaining. Said it was the worst in years. Hopefully this year will be better. I caught a few pre spawn females last spring on their way up there. At least its not polluted any more. Lots of luck for a big year.

Yeah, that's the general consensus I hear too. I fish exclusively in the Hudson and last year was the first in six years of persuing stripers that I didn't even get a lousy bite! Oh, well there's always this year. Maybe we'll warm up like were suppossed to this spring and the stripers will get up this far BEFORE they spawn. I know herring weren't the problem- I never had a problem catching them in the scap net. Oh, and thanks for the welcome! :D
