For the most part they're only feeding in short bursts
Guys I know that have been fishing hard have been putting in a lot of time to be there for those few minutes
For the past week I can't seem to buy a fish

I may have to revert to bait to break this streak

Fishing out front has been highly sporadic, but I washed some of the stank off last night, hooked 3 fish, landed 2, 1 keeper(29-30").....after dark, incoming, before the moon popped out again.
Best part was the keeper fell to one of my bottle plugs, I have been waiting for the fall to use all these plugs I made last winter, it's time!

Yeah, that was later the night I saw you, a little further south after dark. I only kept the little feller because a guy I work with wanted some fish.
Ya know sometimes after you catch a couple of fish you begin to think"well, maybe I got this figured out" well I didn't, last 2 days have not seen a fish, mine or anyone else's.
Surf has gone into full washing machine mode at this point, which can be good, but wasn't, for a while early this morning.
zim, ya that's some of dirty Jersey on the fish, and a dark picture to boot.

finally saw some life yesterday. howling wind sandblasted me but i was on big bunker. switched to a trebble to snag one. got it only to be lost. and they vanished in the surf. was intrigued as i saw them in that "washing machine" but i threw the kitchen sink and nada. the walk back to my vehicle into the sandstorm along the beach was just the pits. perhaps the 3 or 4 hours i get to fish in M. sat nite before the torrential rains will net me a fish. i would back out if i had sense but cannot dissappoint as i always (as you know) bring the good weather to any gathering. lmfao!!

no fishing without rain sat. looks like it is coming earlier than i anticipated.
that said, i picked the following week for this and it looks to be phenominal conditions
but gunny had other ideas. looks like i was destined for this one suds! it just wreaks of me
i cannot wait to plan the december gathering again, that last one was a pissah.
jim, khary and i did not give up. i love relentless, committed (*don't do it) people

We got out yesterday and found some busting fish, blues with bass mixed in feeding on peanuts. we managed a bunch of fish with only one being a keeper 13#. Bite shut down around 10 am when the front started to move through. We marked bait EVERYWHERE but could find no takers.

Had a lovely 3 hours of non-stop schoolie action after work today, in the plush conditions of 40 degree temps, cold rain, and 30 mph winds with gusts to 40. Fish did not care, nothing big, all 24-28", but it was full time action, till it died at full dark. I have striper thumb for the first time in a while.
Good primer for the big girls.....bring on tha bitches.
