Tried to get out yesterday, got to the inlet and said NOT TODAY!!!! Party Boats were turning around.

Gave it another shot today, and on a gut feeling headed south. We were on piles of fish all day long. It was kind of tough to get through the 12-15# blues, but if you could, the bass were there. Caught a bunch up to 13#.

The muscles in my arm are spasming. what a day!!

Bluefish on the Jersey beaches, everywhere, as far as I can tell....find the birds, and you've found the blues.

That's kind of funny. I posted those and they didn't show up, now it looks like I had dome sort of mental break.

Hi Ed White,
What size are the blues on the Jersey beaches? Would I be better off fishing during daylight hours with lures or bait. Thanks.

You'll probably get them on bare hooks. Not very picky.

Fished hard Thursday night, Friday night and dawn patrol Sunday morning.
From Squan inlet all the way to Sandy Hook, many stops in between, and a few spots in the back (the back was dead!)

Lots of smallish fish this weekend, 25" to 27", only one over 30"

Hit the surf in Ocean county, south of Point, north of IBSP...picked 2 Bass and one Skate!....They make a nice hat.

Action was from 6:30-7:30am on Sunday...

I still have open dates for charters on the Western Sound, my ad appears here, Long Run Fishing Charters. We picked Bass to 34 inches on the troll in the fog friday and hoping the best is yet to come...Thanksgiving thru Middle of December should be good on the fly, troll and plugging...

Contact me for any info...

Chased the chickens up and down the coast this week, a couple of short fish Fri night, and walked onto a mini blitz Sat afternoon into dark, caught short bass and 1 bluefish for about an hour and a half. The shorts were getting almost legal sized before my fingers said "Go get a coffee, you *&$#".

Hit the Ocean County Beaches this morning and thought I was going to lose 2 fingers to frost bite....sun up saw tons of birds and herring and sand eels in the wash with an occasional burst & boil. Threw metal/white teaser, no takers, went to Yo-Zuri chicken scratch crystal minnow with a with teaser combo and Bingo!...had 3 Bass to 23 inches in a cut and then it died once the sun was up (8am roughly).

Surf was very calm, west wind, outgoing...birds and boats were very scattered and decided to hit The Cottage in Point Pleasant with my buddy to warm up the Digits, and for a great breakfast. I may get out Tuesday morning, predicting rain....so, any interested parties who'd like to join me, give me a shout or a PM....

Boat is still in the water in the Western Sound, bite there has yet to materialize into anything real great...could blow up once this Alberta Clipper slides out as there are fish to the east of me off Stamford CT..

Tight Lines and Happy Thanksgiving....
