Default Rod size for my VS200??

Hey guys i recently purchased my first van staal and im about to buy my rod for it but im stuck on what size i should buy. Im buying a St. Croix mojo surf. I know the vs200 is best rated for 9'-10' but i cant settle on either. Maybe a push in either direction will get me to pull the trigger and order the rod. This setup will be my main setup for throwing plus and artificials on the Jersey and New York coast. Thanks in advance!

10 or 11 foot. 9 is too small for a VS200,,, IMO

Nice reel. And the mojo surf is a nice rod.

The 11' is rated 3-8 which is too high for plugging

There is a 10'6" model that is nice. I agree that 9' may be a little small for that reel and may not balance as well as a 10' or 10'6"

Is there someplace near you where you can try the reel on those rods?

Everything ive read and heard is that its best suited for most 9'ers and all 10's so i plan on either a 9' or 10'. Ive been leaning towards the 10'. No where too close Cabelas had none in stock and that was a 2 hour drive. The only other place that would have them is Tackledirect which is where i plan to order from but its also a good hour an a half from me. Anyone fishing this setup?

I fished it last season - mojo 10'6 paired with a 200 VS.
Nice balance fine setup.
I found the small diameter guides on the mojo rod a bit weird.
The 250 is a better balance on the 11 footer but i prefer the lighter reels.
Less fatigue after a while.

The question is rod size for the VS200 = 10 foot. 1 -4 0z. or 3/4 to 4.

Thanks for the input guys i ended up going with the 10 foot and the reel feels great on it. I guess we'll see if i made the right choice once i throw a few plugs with it.
