4 stroke motors

Recently switched from a 2 stroke 90 hp to a 115 hp Merc 4 stroke. What a motor. The fuel consumption has to be about half of the 2 stroke. Less noise, no smoke. I had second thoughts on buying the 4 stroke but loving every minute on the water with it now. :D

I hope you have better luck with you motor than I have had........ I bought a 18' sea pro center console with a merc 115hp EFI 4stroke, 3+ years ago. Unfourtunatly it was one of the first 115s made, every time I shift into gear it wants to stall. It has been at the shop since I have had it, I still use it, just bring it back when I am done. The latest brain storm merc had was to change the lower unit, that did not help any. Now they are going to change the fuel injectors. Besides the stalling, the motor runs awesome. Fuel economy is great, and it moves right along....Hopefully they will get it fixed soon :x

I have over 100 hours on the motor now and not one problem yet.Hope it keeps performing like it is now. Talked to several people who have them before I bought mine and they had very few problems. Yours is the first I've heard of the stalling .Hope they get it fixed. I got mine under the 5 year full warranty incentive they had earlier this year .

I had the 3 year warranty, wich has expired now. But the problem that I have is existing, so it is covered. I just dropped it off again, the shop is trying to get it squared away. Told them they should think about giving me a new motor. NH has a lemon law.....

I got the boat back today, they replaced the injectors and adjusted the throttle positioning sensor.........I hope that will take care of it! I won't have it in the water until sat. morning. So I won't know until then.

Took the boat out this morning, finally it did not stall going into gear :D After 3 yrs, maybe they have fixed it........
