Default Line color

Probably a thread on this but does color of line matter? I'm talking about 20lb test or so for a spinning reel......primarily striper fishing.........I've seen blueish line, white, clear, and of course flourecent but I think that's primarily for big game fishing....

any thoughts???

Stripers can be line shy, so you have to be careful what you use. I would suggest pick the line you are most comfortable with, then use a flouro leader. Get real flouro, don't try and save money using Vanish Flouro. I do alot of night fishing as well as alot of fishing on some rather crowded beaches, so I prefer a HI Vis line....I use Sufix Siege 20# Mono in Tangerine. It is quite easy to see, but always use some sort of leader with it.

I don't put much stock in any line color hype.
After all lots of fish are being caught with braid which is as visible as you can get. So long as you have a minimum of a 4' flouro leader (preferably longer) I don't think it matters what color your running line is.

An exception would be when you're finesse fishing for largemouth and watching the line where it enters the water looking for the tiniest twitch. For that the high viz flourecent lines are great.

I believe it doesn't matter what color the line is as long as you use a clear leader. Mono or fluorocarbon.
