best motors ever! mine is a 97 evinrude only maintenced once EVER! they last a life time if you take care of them
Maintenanced or repaired? Because if you maintained it once, your not taking care of it. Just Messing around. Seriously Ive heard nothing but good things about the E-tecs. I just would not listen to their claim of zero maintenance.
I got a 2007 90 HP Etec and I love it! The smaller Etecs are just arriving in my area and if they are anything like the bigger versions well worth the money! I have replaced plugs in mine after a year and a half but that is it. They fire twice at idling speeds to use less fuel and not waste it, after a certain speed range it changes over. No carbs fuel injected right into the cylinders. They are very quiet compared to my last engine and weight wise is much lighter. You can get a free CD on the Etecs either from the website or at your dealer. Very interesting tests they do escpecially when they hook two identical boats together with same HP. I am sure you will like it!
I getting the new one, 25 hp and it's going on my 16' Grumman deep vee. It's replacing a Evinrude 25 hp I've had for 11 years. The Grumman is a great river boat but someday I want to get something for off shore.
