If you don't believe the pic I feel sorry for you.

Wind blowing, temp. dropping and pouring rain! I tried both stoolie and sabiki but couldn't call up any.

The guy was there when I pulled in (truck reading 57 degrees) and still there getting soaked when I left (truck saying it dropped to 47 degrees). They were few and far between but he pulled up enough to fish chunk and live. No takers while I was there.

River was muddy, visibility about two inches based on the stoolie. I suppose that I could have had followers but didn't see them.

I believe.. I believe.. lets hope we don't get too much rain. All the creeks up here in the helderbergs are running good, and its all heading to the river. Guess its just a wait and see now. Either way, boats been hooked to the truck for a week now, just waiting.

Where is the best place around Newburg to fish some herring with sabiki rigs from a boat? just looking for general areas where we might have some luck. TIA

Herring were very thick and splashing around in Greene County today. There's a lot of them out there. I just drove down (3 minute ride) to get the stoolies I snapped off today (had to wait for the tide to go down) and I could still see some....

Just got my limit in troy at the usual place. Low tide seems to be best with the river so high. When the tide comes in the muddy water goes all the way to the falls. Put the boat in tomorrow, give it a shot. Not too much debris.

Still getting bait at hh yesterday. Not a lot of numbers but still following stoolie. Tried jigging in albany this a.m. only snagged one small cat, no herring jigging yet on jig but soon enough. Now is the time to be patient it's gonna be a normal run this year.

No current herring reports? Think it's because herring are all the way up to Troy. I have been told that plenty of herring have been netted in the Postenskill. Can anyone confirm that?

All I can say is what I've seen with my own two eyes, unless those people fishing the post are invisible I haven't seen a lot of action there. But there a dump load of cormorants swimming in the creek so the bait is for sure here!

I can confirm that Herring is very plentiful in the Poesty. Hitting sabaki rigs and limiting out in 30-45 minutes.

It is extremely ignorant for boats to anchor with 40' of rope out 15 feet from shore while people are lined up fishing from shore in troy..you sit there and jig for herring for 4 hours and not catch one... while our buckets are full of bait and you sit in the way getting snagged losing one rig after another.Get a life.. Find a new spot... and hopefully some tips on how to catch bait
