Default What's that smell?

Went out late yesterday afternoon with a buddy. We found schools of fast movers and saw a couple of Stripers. But there was a bad smell. I think it was SKUNK!

We couldn't understand either. Low pressure, grey skies, no wind and slight drizzle. Perfect fishing weather.

Oh well. The boat runs great and we had fun.

We were back on land by 1900hrs. It sure was purty out there with no wind.

At one point we had to move because of all the jellyfish. Once you hook one, the lure no longer behaves as intended. Real pita. This was when we were drifted into a pod of fast movers too.

I have many downed limbs in my backyard this morning, so I guess it blew here too.

Only one guarantee when you fish from a boat. You get a boat ride. :)

Seems like there is always something trying to ruin the trip, if it's not jelly fish it's mung, if it's not mung it's large floating masses of rock weed, if it's not rock weed, it's bluefish... i did find enough fish with stripes to make the beating worthwhile.....

Well, that's good.

I would have been happy with a snapper blue.....

The Fall Run should be starting soon. Water temps are dropping fast.

no snappers, just gorrila's., it became too much work fighting a 5 knot current, 15-20 knot wind,4'waves, 300' of wire, 4 ounce swimming plug and alligator blues... time to go home at that point...

Ya it was weird...I decided to just hit a spot further upriver for some Largemouths, didnt want to contend with wind and the tide in the marsh or our front. Perfect fishin weather like you said, and could only manage 1 good fish on a jig N craw. My friend had 1 or 2 small ones, and that was it. The fish were just not active. It's odd at this spot for fish not to be pounding nightcrawlers, and my friend was having a hall of time getting any looks. All the parameters were what your taught are :perfect" for fishin, and it wasnt all that productive

My buddy summed it up well last night. "We're paying our dues."

Paying dues... I'm so broke I cant pay attention!!!!!

My backs stiff, my knees ache and my shoulders crack and dont want to work, to top it off there's not a straight finger on either hand!... we've got about 30-40 good days left... I think I can make it.....
