Hello mradford; for a while now they have been cutting back the water, meaning gates are not open very much in most places. Are the gates open and water moving when your there? It was in the paper that we are having a water shortage and they are only allowing 30% of water to flow in the aqueduct and by next year they are only allowing gates to be open to flow water only 20%. It has been bad this year with everyone's fishing but the weekends the gates are open. During the week they are normally not open or very little. It could just be there are working on the aqueduct somewhere and the water will be low and depending on how long it takes them. With my experience the gates need to be open to catch stripers, (WHY) the Stripers love the fast moving current the cats are bottom dwellers and it dont matter to them. Let me know if the water has been flowing when you go to the duct.

This is my favorite time of year they are out fattening up. My friend caught two 11 lbs stripers trying up and down the aqueduct under bridges and around 2-3 pm. I will be posting his picture tonight. Rainy weather are awesome for stripers. I am still sick and I wanted to go the other night when we had thunder storms but don't want to get worse. October 23 was my last one. If you go good luck and rod tips up!

There are still fishes in the duct, just got to find them, just recently caught a 31 pounder and like bill said they are fattening up. Caught it up the duct near Lemoore. here is a picture and a video of that striper...
