Default Staten Island Great Kills Fishing

Hello Everyone,

I took the boat out on Sunday morning and hooked up with 2 14 pond blue fish, a 7lb skate and a few flunder. I went just outside the harbor by crooks point. The thing is I'm getting tired of catching blue fish. Does anyone know some good spots where I can go to hook up some Stripers during the day around the harbor?

Hi Warpen,
I don't fish your area, but take a look at the charts and see if you can find some structure in the area where there is some current and focus on those. Deeper water may be the key if you're fishing during the day.
Cheers and welcome to the forum!
Jake

Jake is right. During the day you need to get into deeper water, like the Ambrose channel out in the Bight area. Google New York Bight and it gives you an idea where to fish.
