What a weird start to this striper season compared to last year.
With the Mild Winter no runoff and very low water levels seems to be affecting the fishing in our area.
Maybe it's just alitlle soon
Shad are being caught as well as small schoolies.
Hopefully we get a lot of rain to get the river flowing.
I think things are going to start happening real soon.

We saw some pretty large ones jumping out of the water last weekend. I am just starting to learn striper fishing and getting all setup.

Stripers or sturgeon? What I originally thought were stripers actually turned out to be atlantic sturgeon doing back flips.

Low water in Waterville and have not heard or seen much happening between Brewer and Bucksport. The Saco river and other estuaries south are productive. Will try Phippsburg Sunday.Safari so goody

Never had much luck in the Penobscot. Caught a few schoolies over the years. I've heard that schoolies have been spotted as far up as old town this year. They took out all the dams a few years back, and have been repopulating the bait fish since.

Hopefully they will be around this weekend. We can start using bait on Friday, so hoping to try some eels.
