I'm new to the salt and would like to give trolling with wire a try. I'm wondering which knots to use at the end of the wire. I know that I need to keep the wire from getting kinked and I'm unsure of how to terminate the wire without letting it get pulled into a sharp bend. Any suggestions?
use an albright so the leader can go though the guides. get yourself a trolling rod like the tsunami trophy series TSTBC 761 as there are reasons for certain rods for wire. (guides are different to keep from getting grooves in em_) roc covered this in another thread but if you have to use crimping sleeves they better well be the # test matching up with what you are using. live and learn. bunker spoons in chrome and white (10in and if smaller or feeding on smaller bait 6 inch) however manns stretch will locate fish and if you are lucky you can obtain a certain masters plug that i assume would just friggen roc. here is the other thread https://www.stripers247.com/phpBB2/sh...ad.php?p=81284
I TOTALLY agree here. Get a good pair at any tackle store or even Lowes has some good quailty gloves. The albright knot can leave a nasty little wire piece that can cut your hand pretty good. I did it earlier this year, it sucks.
