Default Local river

I'm going to hit a spot down by the Ct. river Sat., daybreak. Just to see if there is anything local yet.

Where do you normally get in? I'm in Rocky Hill. I'm seriously thinking about getting the little boat ready this weekend. Been hittin' it for shad once in a while. Too early. Nothing yet but it won't be long. I'll bet the water is still in the upper 30's. Another couple weeks and we might start seeing a few shad up here. (I hope!)
A couple of guys have been launching from RH already. Personally I think it is still too cold but a few days in the 50's will start to turn this thing around. Actually I really hope it is a slow long spring. Last year the water went from 45 to 60 in about 2 weeks. Killled the season. Let's hope for a nice slow increase in temps this year. The water level now isn't too bad. I hope it stays that way.

Yea, I fish off that dock in April, when they put it in. I was down there yesterday, and nada. In a couple of weeks anyway, for the smaller fish to come alive. In May I go up the river a ways.

Lot of great structure there in the Rocky Hill portion of the river.

Yea. I have always done well in there. I discovered a great spot at the end of last year's spring season. I think that I'm going to start there this year.
Water is still in the low 40's. A bit kool yet.
