NEBRASKA GAME AND PARKS COMMISSION stocked over 300,000 fingerlings in the state each year. They get them from other states by trading other species such as walleyes for them.

In south-central and southwestern Nebraska, the wiper waters include McConaughy, Elwood, Johnson, Medicine Creek, Red Willow, Swanson, Maloney, Jeffrey, Sutherland, Harlan County, Gallagher, Midway, Plum Creek, Phillips Canyon, Enders and Lake Helen.
