Fish Finder Rig?

Hey, I hear about alot of people ussing these "fish finder rigs" What are they? What makes them so special or great.

Allows your weight to freely slide up and down the main line, and therefore the fish doesnt feel quite as much resistance when picking up bait, also giving you more feeling when the fish "hit".

Plus if you free spool in enough current it will allow your bait to slide therefore move in the current to where the fish are...

I use the clip on ones they are easier for me with smaller bank sinkers. The bigger sinkers I have to tie on. Its not a bad idea to tie on the sinkers because if they get hung up you dont loose the whole rig.
I dont leave home without them 8) . Below is a herring rig. I substitute the 5 foot leader with 2 or 3 foot and a 7/0 baitholder hook

If you are just starting out...snelled hook is the way to go...you get the hook, heavy leader and quality knot...all in one...

I almost exclusively fish these when using bait...except the occasional Fluke Rig...

I use them for Trout fishing in ponds and rivers. You can weight them down with BB's to the ounce you want.

Oh I dont know about them bubbles in the salt. I'd definitely stick tha fish findiz :)

I'm not sure about those floats either. Fishfinder rigs have always worked great for me. I snell my own hooks and put them on the end of a leader past my stopper. I personally prefer to make sure the weight can go no closer than 5-6' to the bait.

The floats keep them off the bottom away from crabs , good in grassy spots too.
