10,000 Gulf-Strain Stripers for West Point in Georgia!
Came across this the other day on the West Point Lake Coalition website:
10,000 striped bass released in West Point Lake
Wednesday, November 7, 2007, 10,344 gulf striped bass were released into West Point Lake. The restocking is a continuation of the initial release in the spring. The fish, raised in Mississippi, average around nine inches long and are larger to improve their chances of survival over the winter.
The costs associated with the restocking comes from fees for fishing licenses.
I have been fishing for Hybrids in West Point for two years and they are a blast. I usually troll with flatlined crankbaits, but I have made some umbrella rigs that I am itching to try out. We just need some water in the lake (it's down over 12 feet and the submerged timber is dangerously close to the surface ).
Anyone else out there ever hit West Point?
