Default Mack Time

hey guys this is giong to be my frist year trying for mackerals and i wanna take my girlfriend fishing for them so i can persuade her to come more often. i just don't wanna start her off with blues or bass.

can anyone tell me about when is the best time to fish for them?? i'm like 99% sure i'll be on the golden eagle party boat but a round about time would be amazing.

They should be off the NJ coast in late April or May.

i do not think time of day is as important as tide and bait. usually i get macks on the incoming tide when there is sand eels and other small bait fish in the water. also i learned i got majority of them on a sabiki rig but instead of putting a weight at the bottom i attach a silver crippled herring they slam it .
