Easy question - I've read about wire & leadcore to get down deep to troll tube & worm rigs, but I don't see why you wouldn't just use an egg sinker or 2 a few feet up the leader from the tube. Seems to me the weight would get the rig down and it would be much easier than dealing with the cost & hassle of wire. Can someone set me straight?
People do it all the time. There are all kinds of different sinkers designed specifically for trolling, some torpedo shaped, some with keels, and some banana shaped, like this one (pic hijacked from somewhere on the 'net)
(I alway wondered if this could be considered bad luck on a boat )
