Halibut and striped bass in the main bay. Revolving theory is that the big tides push the bass and halibut into the main bay. That believed, Paradise, Southampton Shoal and Angel Island could be your best bet the next few days.

SAN FRANSISCO BAY
Jim Smith of the Happy Hooker said that there are a lot of fish, primarily striped bass, in the bay around Alcatraz. He said that nobody is fishing there and that attempts to fish there over the weekend could net a big day for some lucky angler.

Default SAN FRANCISCO BAY -

SAN FRANCISCO BAY - Some boaters have picked up some halibut and striped bass. Most of the fish appear to be traveling in schools. Pier anglers can catch stripers at dusk and pick up bait fish, perch, sharks and rays. It's sharks and rays in the South Bay. A few striped bass are being caught at night from the Oyster Point Pier. Striped bass up to 30 pounds are being caught near the warm water outlet of the PG&E plant. Schoolie-sized bass are found nar the Brisbane Tubes. Call (650) 589-3474.

SAN FRANCISCO BAY

Sand dab and and crab trips have begun at Emeryville Sportsfishing now that salmon season is over. Sand dabs average 9-10 inches. There also has been steady limits of crab. Expect sand dabs and crab to be the norm until January trips for striped bass and sturgeon. (Roger Thomas 415-674-3474; Emeryville Sportsfishing 510-654-6040).
