1st keep keep of '04
Check out me gallery :) I also posted one in the Album. I never keep 'em, 'cept the first keeper of the year (or unless its that 50 pounder I want), plus my bro was there to help land it and he likes to eat 'em. I dont eat em though. Check it out...

Fish fought well. I had a great time. Undisclosed location ofcourse ;)
There was one caught bigger, which was 35". Good stuff.

Nice
I never had much success with the lure you grabbed him on, but it clearly catches keepahs
Also, you gotta love the Bogagrip.
What did it weigh? Looks like it's in the 9-10# range

Yup, just about 10 pounds exactly, just a few ticks off :)
I'd also like to let you guys know, that I added Smelly Jelly Sticky Liquid in HERRING to both sides of my Mr. Bunker before I casted it out ;) If any of you are skeptical about scents, I suggest you give it another try.
I was also real happy to hook up with something finally that could put up a fight, cuz I was using a newer setup and was dying to know how it would perform. I can say know that I was impressed, and the setup worked beautifully. I had total confidence, and actually never once thought I would lose the fish to a break off or anything.
Oh yeah, I hear what your saying about not having much luck with this specific lure. I would say its probably not really the best choice for fishing off the rocks or out on the open water, I mean it may work, but for me it seems better suited for river work. Where I caught this fish, well lets just say it was "at the end of the line" for the Stripers, and it was like fishing in a hot tub :)

The setup I was usin only cost about 100 bux total lol :) Just Okuma stuff. I rewrapped the rod with rubber/cork tape though. The setup felt solid as a rock, and the drag really impressed me. I have other setups, including St. Croix rods and stuff, but I gotta say this Okuma stuff felt pretty good.
BTW, the way, I went out to the same spot tonight, LittleRhody (Larry) came out from Manchester and we fished hard, but we got SKUNKED beyond belief. 36,000 Herring bouncing off the water at our feet, but we just couldnt hook up with the bass under 'em. CRAP!
I'll talk more about it in the report tomorrow. I'm tired, I'm off to Tha Dead Zone.
Is it going to be nice tomorrow?

Yeah Rhody all's fine here. A little fin tuning on the new motor and I'm burnin gas at light speed levels! Putting a new computer in it, the old 305 comp has the 350 running a little rich.
I'll be hitting the suds hard after wednesday. Bud's are bangin some nice Bass on a regular basis now.
Call me when the itch hit's to travel south again.

Alright, someone from Rhode Island called my cell this morning. Who was it?!?!?! LOL. I was in the Dead Zone, plenty tired from the long day of fishing I had yesterday. I checked the area code on 411.com, and 401 is R!.
