Default Skunkarooni

Ok maybe my timing was off, maybe it was thinking I could score following a couple of days worth of storms. But I thought I'd try... Headed to the canal Sunday for the sunrise. Typically a very good time at the spot I like to hit. 1 rod out with live bait the other plugging away. There was no surface action so I switched to crippled herrings, deadly dicks, and bucktails. Aside from one skinny little skate on the live bait I got skunked. I stayed and worked thru low slack until I had to pack it in to go meet a realtor. Looking at some houses on the cape trying to get closer to the things we enjoy doing as a family, beaches, biking, and fishing.

My best,
Mike The Skunked

As the old adage goes...

"That's why its called fishing, not catching"

At least you were able to get out, that's what's important. Saturday was a great day to be by the water. You cant be successful every time. Better luck in the future and good luck getting that house on the Cape!

Cheers,

OTF

What kind of live bait would you use in the canal while not holding your rod? And catching a skate? I'm not trying to bust balls. I just have never seen anything like this done there before.
