6a is good but thats just a reference point theres dozens of little pieces of bottom that i fish for big flounder and nice cod in and out around winthrop and they all hold flounders at different times of the season and at different stages of the tide . You'll see dozens of boats anchored up at 6a and they do well on cod and flounder' But if you want to find the welcome mats you gotta do a little looking around or drop by the shop and i'll steer you in the right direction pete antini

Whats happening Pete! I have been there over the last week a few times and casted on the salt and fresh side. No action. The sweet spots on the fresh water side are still iced up. Casting from the point on the fresh side with slim plastics turned up nothing. I imagine that the 32 was caught by the Bass boats? This time last year was when I started to bang them with consistancy on slim plastics. I hope to have the kayak on the water in a week or so. I just hope we get some warmer weather in to loosen up the ice. The end of March rains last year turned the bite off as raw sewage slipped into the river. It was a mess not too mention the diahria I had the next day. Nasty! I hope that it does not happen again.
