I was going to head down that way in the next day or two to pick up a permit but i hear that its supposed to rain / snow over the next few days. I may hold out till the water gets warmer.
Im sure theres probably schoolie action near the bogs.

The battery and sandy hook are in the mid 40's

bunker spotted in staten island with bass to 20lbs on them
this is from a boat captain
jamaica bay has bunker as does some areas of the western sound
including a confirmed sighting in manhasset
i will be going tommorrow to check for myself
was in cape may this weekend although i had no fish action, spoke to the owner of cape may bait and tackle on sunset and he told me the boat guys spotted bunker and herring but no bass yet
i did see gannetts divebombing the rip so i suspect there is bait

bait shops opened this week. naturally there are fish here all of the sudden. there are always bunker early. big fish show up when the last blow has gone by. which will be this weekend or next cause the next system coming in 2 weeks is gonna knock your socks off! you think the rain we are getting tonight is heavy> me thinks we will get a nice accumulation of snow for sure this weekend. like i said, i will know when a corroborated report is in.; won't be mine as i am done with being the first nitwit out there to catch a fish. them days are over.
