I sent him an email about a month ago to see how he was doing. Said he was doing good,, family & work keeping him pretty busy. Didn't get much of a chance to fish this fall.

Yup! Still around...

My office buddy and I are still talking boats for next season. I'm hitting
the fall 06 end of season sell off the get one. The office buddy's wife is
a doctor so I'm trying to get him to get off his arsh and spend some more money...

I've got 1 daughter and 3 boys and all play hockey. So as soon as September rolls around my weekends are gone. So any time near the shoreline around the fall has to be used affectively. I did make it out
to North Beach Hampton for an Indian Summer day with my boys.We
had a great day, caught a bunch of skate and the surf was awesome.

Getting out to go fishing has to involve my kids otherwise my wife will
kick my butt. I was in the dog house all summer long. Seems she doesnt
understand the relationships that are built when you go out fishing
with your sons/daughters. I wonder if she'll go on the boat? I'll let you know

Over the years I've spent a lot of time bust my butt on house chores and the like. Now that my kids are growing up ( no diapers ) I look to get away with them a bit more each year and enjoy the things that will build lasting memories.

Anyway, I haven't disappeared, just hybernating til spring time and
playing lots of hockey...

Its going to be a long fishing season next year until September/october 06 when I will finally be out of debt enough to get a boat. Until then I see
myself draggin that damn snow sled across the beach filled with food and snacks for my kids....

Good to see your still around, You and the younguns will have to join me out on the ice for some hardwater fishing, it's relaxing and we can chat while the children chase the flags...

Quonapowitt( Spelling) have fish in it Roc? Where do you ice fish?
I used to Windsurf in Wakefield when I was younger...

I hope it doesn't snow again and cover the ice. Might make for great
snowmobiling but it presents a huge problem for skating and pond hockey.

We used to skate for miles and miles on the Shawsheen river when
I was a kid. Too bad its not like that anymore. I see more outside/back
yard rinks than I care to think about... Too Much work if you ask me...
Though I must confess, I've built one, never again...

JB, sorry about the NorthBeach trip. packing up 3 boys, food, clothes,
fishing gear, et al is a lot of work and hard to plan. I'm always looking
for Quality fishing time and haven't had that blockbuster trip that will
get my kids hooked on fishing. I think the boat will make things more
enjoyable for me and them... For now, Its the thrill of the chase I guess...

When I went down to hook up with Baitrunner my wife took all 4 of my
kids up to maine. It worked out great, Bait and I had a great day of
sunshine, food, drink, & fishin. We met Briggs out there too which was a treat.

Its interesting, I've been golfing every summer for the past 15 years and
its becoming boring to me. Probably cause I'm not getting that much better. I'm not horrible but you'd think over time it would improve. I may
opt to give it up to get the extra Pass to go Fishing instead. I'm guessing
that my wife won't be too happy hearing that either...

Such is life! I really do appreciate the website. I think being out on the
water and hooking up with some people from here is the way to go.

Cal,
Quanapowit has some fish in it, the state record tiger muskie came from there a number of years ago, I think they have died off by now (seeing as they are sterile and dont reproduce) the fishingis WAY too slow, If I stay local, I fish Martins in north reading, it's 2 minutes from my house and is loaded with bass, perch and pickerel, everything kids need to keep them happy....

I also fish plugs pond in Haverhill and Horn pond in Woburn, but spend most of my time fishing Canobie lake and Cobbetts pond in Salem/Windham NH.

On a side note, golf is for people who dont fish! If I have yo take you fishing to get you away from playing golf... consider it done!
