"best" is a broad spectrum.... no one plug or lure or even bait serves every situation.... bombers and needle fish are great lures when bass are feeding on sand eels.. but have a huge school of bunker show and larger more full bodied plugs like Danny's and darters are the rule....
if you only carry a few colors of the above named lures.. you'll have a plug to fit most circumstances you will encounter... throw in a pencil popper and you'll be armed and ready...
