Tsunami vs. Lamiglas?

Hey Guys,

Looking into a new pole for strictly throwing lures from the surf. I would like to get a lamiglas Surf King either 10' or 11' or a Tsunami airwave either 10' or 11'. Which would you guys reccomend? They are both in the same price range, just wondering if one was better than the other, and why.

I honestly don't know anything about the Tsunami. I have never heard anything bad about Tsunami rods. From what I understand they are good rods for the money. I do have a friend that Swears by the surf king blanks and will fish them exclusively. He had a custom surf king made this winter even. That is my .02 cents not very helpful sorry.

From what i hear, it seems as if the lami's are a bit more flexible than the Tsunami's, does that seem right? And Jack, i was leaning towards the surf king, thanks for the imput.

Also, this pole being stricly for plugging/lures, should i go with a 10' 2-4oz? or a 10' 3-6oz?

I would go with the 2-4 as opposed to the 3-6 version. for plugging especially

Go with the lami. They are pretty good with their warranty. If you break it just send it back with a letter saying it broke while casting and they will send you a new one for the price of shipping. Either rod should do you good for the price

Alright, thanks, i was thinking of pairing it with a penn spinfisher 650 or 750. Not totally settled on the reel yet, still looking around.

My first combo was a 9' Tsunami Trophy Series and a 650ssm I like the Tsunami's alot but I think the Airwaves are almost to light but a couple of my friends use them and they love them

Surf King doesn't carry the lifetime Lami warranty, only one year.

I don't think there is any misconception about this sport being in-expensive. Having said that, I bet if you compare rod stats side by side, you may want to go with the lamiglas super surf.

two to six ounce lures and the blank only weighs 8.5 oz. That's pretty good, and it has a heavy line rating too. And it's a one piece rod.

That's what I would get.

It's true, surf king only has one year warranty, all other models have lifetime.

I know the Tsunami rods claim to be light weight, but it's going to be hard to beat an 8.5 oz blank.

I would love to get a 1 peice, but i wouldn't be able to transport it. What about the lami tri-flex? any opinion on those?
