metal lips the lips

i know bending the wire down makes the plug go up,but a few danny kits i put togather are still swimming low/underwater i like the dannys on top.can i bend the lip the same way??? i messed up a few store bought plugs trying this before,thought i'd ask first,any help would be greatly appreciated.

Down = up
Up = down
Just like the wire loop

Always work on the loop before you start bending the lip, that's a last ditch effort to get the plug to swim properly.
